RASAC P&K International Women's Day Fundraising Music Evening was a Success!

INTERNATIONAL WOMAN'S DAY FUNDRAISER WAS A SUCCESS 💃

Total Raised: £1,974.85

RASAC P&K would like to thank The Twa Tams and all who attended our #InternationalWomensDay fundraiser, we'd also like to thank them for providing their sound engineer Michael McNab for the evening, who did a stellar job!

Thanks also to The McAndrews Sisters Vocal Trio, Lola O'Dorel, Ailsa Black, Hot Mess , and Sophie Staniforth Music and to the wonderful Hollie Irvine for being our compere for the night.

Also massive thanks also to all the raffle prize donors; GoApe , Invercarse Hotel, Sacred Dagger Tattoo, Karma Soul Sanctuary and Fyne Glamping, you all made a huge difference.

This all makes a massive impact on helping us to provide essential services across Perth & Kinross, and we are hugely grateful for all of your support 💜 💜 💜

Sexual Abuse and Violence Awareness Week QR Code Sticker Campaign

This year for Sexual Abuse and Violence Awareness Week we decided to team up with some local Perth & Kinross coffee shops to spread the word about our services and how to access support for survivors. A big thank you to all the wonderful cafes who participated. We had a 200% increase of online traffic on our social media over this week so it made a difference and spread the word. Big thank you to the following cafés/coffeeshops!

Come Volunteer with us! We could not do what we do without you.💜 All rape crisis centers in Scotland started as volunteer organisations, and at RASAC P&K we still have volunteers supporting our work. We are incredibly grateful for all our volunteers and everything they bring to our organisation! Do you has 2-5 hours per week to spare and want to make a difference? We provide free training and induction worth over £1000 and provide support in all our volunteering opportunities.😀 We run 1-2 volunteer training programmes per year. But why would we blame ourselves for the actions of others — and how can we challenge this? Healing takes time, self compassion, and self love — and you deserve all three.For the second year running we are holding this exhibition as provides a tangible response to one of our culture’s most pervasive rape myths. “What were you wearing?” This terrible myth insinuates that people’s, but especially women’s, clothing is some how responsible for sexual violence. This exhibition aims to show how absurd this concept is and how in reality the only person at fault is the perpetrator. 📢The What Were You Wearing (WWYW) exhibition was created & first displayed at the University of Arkansas in 2014. 📢In 2017, WWYW went viral after displayed at the University of Kansas & was covered the media. WWYW has been recreated on six continents thousands times since 2017. Now in Perth and Kinross for the second year. 📢Outfits featured in this exhibition have been recreated from the stories of survivors. *content warning* Some people, especially survivors may find this exhibition difficult or distressing.
