Community Engagement & Development Worker

Hours:
28 hours per week (4 days to March 2024).
21 hours per week (3 days April 24 – March 2025)
This post is currently funded until March 2025. Continued funding will actively being sought.

Salary: £32675 (pro-rata)

Location: Perth
Do you have the skills and energy to develop and deliver multi-agency training alongside community awareness raising sessions in the prevention of, and responses to, sexual violence?

Are you enthusiastic about recruiting and supporting volunteers? Are you a team player looking for a new challenge? If you are looking to work within an organisation which dedicates itself to the prevention of sexual violence and improving responses to survivors then we want to hear from you.

The Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre Perth & Kinross are looking for a self-motivated, creative and dedicated Community Engagement & Development Worker to join the team. The post holder will be committed to strengthening our capacity through the effective coordination of our volunteer training programme and will recognise the added value that volunteers bring to our sector. A gendered analysis of Violence Against Women is required, and experience of developing and delivering high quality training and successful community engagement with local communities is essential. This post requires someone who has strong organisational and interpersonal skills, is able to develop and sustain positive partnerships and is confident in event planning.

RASAC P&K welcome applications from black and minority ethnic women, LGBT women and women with disabilities.

Have you been recently sexually assaulted and don't know what to do?

Sometimes when you have experienced a traumatic and/or confusing sexual experience it can be difficult to think about, and process, what happened. Sometimes you may be unsure what to do. You may feel you don’t have any options or you might think you have too many.

Justice Advocacy Support is a safe space for you to talk freely about your choices without being judged or pressured into making any decisions. You are in control of any decisions you make. This support is all at your pace, free and confidential.

Our Justice Advocacy Service provides dedicated staff to support survivors with all aspects of the police reporting and court process as well as information on your rights and choices.
