LGBT Charter...

We welcome all women and young people in to our services, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, transgender identity, age, disability, and religious and cultural background.

We also welcome the LGBT Charter as it aims to safeguard Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people's human rights.

Up and coming Trauma Informed Training...

AIMS:

This online course aims to support practitioner understanding of the impact of trauma (with a focus on child sexual abuse and exploitation) on children, young people and adults.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

This session is aimed at frontline staff and managers in the public, private and third sectors across Perth & Kinross.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • By the end of the course, participants should:
  • Have better recognition and understanding of the short and long term impacts of trauma
  • Have increased awareness in identifying the immediate needs of trauma affected people
  • Have increased understanding of supporting individuals affected by trauma to safely disclose
  • Be more knowledgeable about the importance of encouraging and/or supporting people’s recovery following trauma
  • Have increased awareness of the needs of workers exposed to the details of trauma experienced by others.

Advocacy Worker

Currently funded until March 2022

Salary: 21 hours per week, £29894 (pro-rata)

The Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre Perth & Kinross are looking for an Advocacy Worker to join our Support Services team. Part of the National Rape Crisis Advocacy Project, this role will provide specialist support and advocacy for survivors age 16+ who are considering reporting to police, or who are already engaged in the criminal justice system following a sexual crime. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will work with a range of stakeholders. Experience of providing support and/or advocacy to individuals affected by trauma is essential, alongside a commitment to working within a gendered analysis of Violence Against Women. RASAC P&Kwelcome applications from black and minority ethnic women, LGBT women and women with disabilities. We require female applicants only and are exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. Successful applicants subject to PVG.
